The BR-111 Designer and Architectural Colonist Flooring Series is another high quality line of beautiful hardwood. This line is specifically rustic in nature, which has been accomplished by the finishing method. For example, each board is burnished, which for those that do not know, that means the wood has been polished extensively to give off a certain finish.

In the case of this line, the burnishing has been completed and covered with an oil finish. There are three species in the BR-111 Designer and Architectural Colonist Flooring Series including: Brazilian Walnut; Brazilian Teak; and Brazilian Cherry. These boards are also quite wide, coming in at 7-1/4 inches. The wide nature of the boards, in combination with the deep colors and the oil finish add such elegance to any room. This flooring is iconic for say a home study or home library. Well, for that matter, any library.

The Brazilian species are known for having a high luster, thereby accentuating the oil finish of the BR-111 Designer and Architectural Colonist Flooring Series. This line is installed by either nailing or gluing down the boards. These species are particularly heavy woods with densities around the 12% moisture content range.

For example, the Brazilian Cherry, otherwise known as Jatoba, is reddish brown with dark streaks. It has an interlocked grain, medium texture, and is notably durable. Furthermore, the Brazilian Cherry is difficult to plane and medium difficulty to sand. It finishes very well with paint, varnish, and polish. Most common uses include flooring and furniture.
